Modern Gardens

Modern gardens tend to be characterised by straight lines or geometric shapes, with reduced garden maintenance

Porcelain walls

Porcelain walls often provide an exciting way to provide clean lines and planting areas whilst overcoming changes in height. Porcelain also has lower maintenance requirements.

Paved gardens

In a small garden it can be difficult to store a lawnmower. Fully paving a garden can be the answer but consideration must be given to drainage as our wetter weather can cause flooding challenges.

Entertainment areas

Each family will use their garden in different ways. Questions I will ask will include how often do you entertain and for how many? Do you need a lounging area as well as a dining area. Do you like to BBQ or require a pizza oven?

Modern planting

Planting with a limited palette of colours ensures that the border appears less busy and will generally provide a lower maintenance area

Family seating

When designing a smaller garden every metre of space must be used efficiently. In this garden raised beds also formed seating around what would become a family firepit area. As you can see the lawn was suffering in the dry period.

Lighting

Garden Lighting will allow you to extend the hours of enjoyment that your garden will bring. Whether enjoyed from within or when BBQing or lounging, lighting will enhance your plants and highlight features as well as improve safety aspects
